Calling all PowerUp junior chefs... let's connect and get back to cooking together, virtually!
In this hands-on, 45 minute PowerUp virtual cooking class, Chef Tracy, with Cooks of Crocus Hill, will lead junior chefs in making the Banana Apple Mini Pancake Kabob recipe. Together we will learn about different fruits and practice chef skills from mixing to mashing, to measuring and more!

There are two virtual cooking classes, one at 9:30am and one at 10:45am. Each
class is limited to 15 (one login per family/household). Class is for kid’s ages 8-12. Registration is free.
Note: An adult must be present during the virtual class for supervision and to help with chef skills, as needed. This class does involve cooking on a stove top.

How Does the Virtual Class Work?
1. REGISTER: once registered, you will receive an email with all the class details, including the login information to join the class. A few important details:
• A phone/tablet/computer with internet capability is needed. Video capability is desired to help create a sense of classroom community, however, is not required.
• You will receive two emails: 1. A confirmation email from EventBrite; and 2. An email from PowerUp with all the virtual class details (including an ingredient list, recipe, zoom link to join the class, etc.) to ensure you are prepped and ready to cook on the day of the class.
2. GET INGREDIENTS: Participants are asked to get their own ingredients, prior to the class, so you can follow along with Chef Tracy in making the recipe. The recipe will make approximately 4 servings.
• Note: The estimated cost for the main recipe ingredients is approximately $6.50 (adjust as needed for family size). This cost is based on having to purchase a full dozen eggs, container of oatmeal, etc. Cost does not include kabobs/toothpicks or additional fruit options. Check your pantry first for all the ingredients before shopping, plus use whatever you have on hand for fruit to add to the kabobs (berries, canned fruit, extra bananas, etc.).
If for any reason you are unable to purchase the ingredients for the class, please email us at info@powerup4kids.org. We have scholarships available to help.
3. JOIN US, VIRTUALLY: ON NOVEMBER 20TH!
DON’T FORGET! Upon registering, be sure to include your address so PowerUp can send you a fun COOKING CLASS PACK, that includes the step-by-step recipe class guide, a shopping list, small cutting board, whisk, recipe booklets, kid’s apron and more!
